Print promos for Amazebot’s Tenth Anniversary, starring Baron Von Koggenweil, Vinny, and Tina. The Amazebot 2012 theme was steampunk/Victorian.
The 2012 Amazebot campaign was a continuation of the visual story of Vinny, Tina, and Bob that I started as a co-op in 2011. Our team consisted of myself now in Lead Design and Lead Promotions, one programming lead and 4 graphic design/animation volunteer students submitting display robot art. My primary goal as lead was to have the posters and the animation advertisement, Bright Idea, to spark interest, get people to the event, unite graphic design/art students with programming students by showcasing art during the competition, and ultimately have fun.
On a personal level I wanted to test myself to develop and run a small-scale promo campaign. The 10th Anniversary was a success with both design and programming students attending and participating in the event, requested posters by fans after the event, and an all-round great way to send-off the Amazebot Programming Competition in its final year. Read my blog post on the making of the promo videos.
